Batteries to dominate EU power investments to 2030 – SEB
Investments in batteries and demand-side flexibility will dominate European power market investments over the next five years, with investments in wind and solar to temporarily slow down, forecast a leader at Sweden’s SEB bank.
“I think the flexibility on the demand side is going to be a big story [in Europe] over the next five years, but also grid and batteries, while we are going to be disappointed on new installations of solar and wind,” chief commodity analyst Bjarne Schieldrop told a power conference in Oslo hosted by StormGeo on Thursday.
